The problem: Once a spline is complete, you can not continue drawing from one end like one can do with a polyline.
The solution: Make it possible to continue drawing from one end of a spline.
See photo if this is unclear.
You can draw a second spline starting at the end of the first one.
Select both spline and then use the 'Unify' tool to combine them as one spline.
But your wish is a good one.
