Design Options - All Design Options within the same Design Option Set visible

We use Design Options to create different modules that we then insert into the main model.

Wish: be able to turn on/visible all the options in 1 Design Option Set

Why: now you can only have 1 Design Option visible per Design Option Set, which means we have to create different Sets for each module, so that we can turn all the options/modules on. if we could turn all options everything on it would make it way easier to manage all the options and their Sets.

another advantage of being able to do this is to see multiple options in 1 schedule. right now its not possible

Hi @Joostm ,

I consider you didn't give a try to the design option combinations yet, kindly see the below attached Screenshots.

hi @Mahmoud Qenawi

i did.

Placing it in folders/new option set is exactly the workaround I use.

my wish is to have all design options visible in one folder, so you end up with way shorter lists and also visible in 1 schedule.

I don't understand why you would want to see all options at once?

If it is bathroom option 1, bathroom option 2, bathroom option 3, then you surely you would want to see option 1 OR option 2 OR option 3, not AND.

The same for scheduling, you would want 1 or 2 or 3, not 1 and 2 and 3.

Separate design option for different areas, yes you would want to see at the same time, bit this is why you put them in different option sets, sp you can have them active at the same time.

Hi Barry,

It has to do with using design options for modules as well.

Instead of using the "save module as or" the iceberg method, now we put all the modules in 1 story in different design options.

Right now I put each module in a different folder because sometimes I need to have them all on so I can modify them all at once (ex: wall heights/ type of composite etc and also to be able to edit the settings of doors and windows in schedules)

However, putting each module in a different folder makes the design option list long and the modules hard to find.

if we could make all options 1 in one folder, I would cut the length of the list in half and easily navigate through the different modules.

I understand that there are way bigger priorities than this but if this would be easy to add would be great,

OK, I see what you are doing and I like thinking outside of the box and using tools for different purposes.

I used renovation filters for design options before they came along.

But this is going against what design options are meant for, and that is 'Options'.

Being able to show all options at the same time would just create a mess when set up to work as it should with alternate options in the same set.

Still, everyone feel free to vote for this if you think it is what you want.

I am sure it is possible, I just don't think it is a good idea when design options are used as intended.

Hey Barry,

I agree with you that the main functionality of keeping just 1 design option ON per folder should be the standard option and still the main feature.

I just meant if we had a button inside the design options manager or a saved design option combination, for instance, that would turn them all ON only then.
