Display Order, Option to place newly created elements on top

Kleopatra
Newcomer

When a project uses a deliberately customized Display Order, newly created elements may appear behind existing elements that have previously been brought forward.
This means that a newly created line, fill, dimension, text or other 2D element can be hidden immediately after creation, making it difficult to see, select and edit. The current workaround — manually using Bring to Front after creation — is repetitive and interrupts the drafting workflow.

I would suggest adding an optional setting such as:

“Place newly created elements on top of the current Display Order”

When enabled, a newly created element would be placed above the currently existing display stack at the moment of creation, while all existing relative Display Order relationships would remain unchanged.

Hello Kleopatra,

I would recommend to ask for an option to Set display order level within the settings of the element. I have "inherited" projects that had a lot of elements at the top level and it was a mess to work with.

Have a nice day!

Yeah, you really do not want to give people to ability to simply put things on the top level. It is already a nightmare finding all of the elements that people Bring to Front without the added ability for users to make that the default...

Here is a wish for what Andrei has referenced: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Wishlist/Improve-Control-of-Display-Order-Stack-Levels/idi-p/712...
