In the current versions of Archicad (including 29), it appears impossible to retrieve the Component Area of a Beam when that Beam is set to Tapered. This severely limits the use of accurate area-based quantity take-offs for tapered structural elements.
At the moment, only workarounds such as using “Surface Area of the Beam Left/Right Side (Net)” are available, but these do not replace the need for true Component Area data, especially in BIM workflows where materials and composites are used for precise calculations.
Please make it possible to extract Component Area values for Tapered Beams in Schedules, just like with non-tapered beams.
This would improve material quantification, cost estimation, and overall consistency of data extraction across element types.
