When you un-group, it will only cancel one group at a time.
But when you suspend groups, all will become single objects, but they still remember which group they belong to for when you un-suspend them.
If you do have groups inside of groups, it is not possible to suspend to show all of the groups, only to single elements, which I think is what your wish is about.
