Let us add multiple surfaces from Additional Surface Catalog

Just working on new project, had to proceed with anotherrrrr download for additional surface catalog, and add into the library. 

What I expected: all the surfaces are now in the file (since I added it into library and the size of the library reflect it, right?) and that is it, ready to go to modeling and select whichever new surface I want. 

What I got: thousands new surfaces grouped in folders, with option to add one by one at the time. You need to MANUALLY select which surface you want, you can't even multi-select. 

Glad I did not have to add one by one also the rest of library items.

Am I doing it wrong? Could someone wish with me please?

Barry Kelly has a workaround for importing multiple surfaces: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Visualization/Additional-Surface-Catalog-for-Forward-and-SSA-Use... . But this is also a bit tedious since you have to import the surfaces on a new project and then use attribute manager to get them (because the command to import all surfaces will delete the current list).
