Maintain Wall Connections when Editing Wall Geometry

ananth_devan

When two or more walls intersect and are joined, the connection should remain associated when the geometry of one of the walls is then edited.

Currently, if the end of a wall is stretched, shortened or moved, the wall can become disconnected from previously intersecting wall(s). This means the connections need to be manually re-established after relatively simple geometry changes.

It would be highly useful if ArchiCAD could be smart enough to recognise and maintain these wall connections as relationships.
For example, if the end of a wall is moved, any walls that were previously connected to that end should automatically adjust and remain connected where possible.

This would make editing wall layouts much more robust, particularly in larger projects where many walls intersect, and reduce the need to repeatedly clean up and reconnect walls after design changes.

If you have all of the relevant walls selected, and more the end of a wall, the others will move as well.

If you need to move a wall tangentially, use the offset option and A selected walls that share end each node will stretch to accommodate the offset. This really should include ALL selected walls that share the end node...

You can also use the 2D Marquee to move EVERYTHING included within it's boundaries. The Quicklayers Palette is a convenient way to isolate the elements you are wishing to edit.
