POINT CLOUDS PALETTE (improving work with pointcloud)

Pavel_N

I am attaching an idea for a simple Point Clouds palette, which aims to streamline and improve work with point clouds. I think it is such a basis for the work to be meaningful. I am submitting a proposal for the entire palette, because adding functions one by one does not make sense in this case. You can find the description of the functions directly in the image.

Of course, this is a rough idea that does not have all the connections to the AC environment, and it would certainly be modified by the developers, but it will hopefully serve to give an idea of what is missing when working with clouds in AC.

I know there is BIMmTool, but it is only a third-party plugin, which, moreover, in the Lite version, is not useful for professional work.

The Point Clouds palette and BIMmTool are almost identical. They are both third-party plugins. Graphicssoft should seriously consider a viable alternative, as the competition is already using it.

I think this is a misunderstanding, this is the room for user wishes. The Point Cloud palette does not exist now, it is an idea to improve the Archicad environment (no third-party plug-in), I created the palette idea in Photoshop.

I don't know if it's similar to BIMmTool, I only tried the Lite version of this tool briefly and I wasn't inspired by it at all, although some functions will certainly overlap, but that's not the point here. I was rather looking at BricsCad, which is very far ahead in this (compared to AC), but mainly I was thinking about what delays and annoys me the most when working with clouds.

My vote is not so for the shown palette in detail (good idea, similiar existing addon) but to enhance the build-in pointcloud functionality in general.

It first needs an overhaul for performance for the palettes to work as desired.

Thanks. Yes, that's what I meant, the palette illustration is just a guide for developers to show what features are useful or key. But developers can take it their own way, any improvement in features or performance would be nice.

The idea behind BIMmTool is excellent if it were functional. It could detect walls, slabs, beams, doors, and windows to facilitate modeling. But most importantly, it would be able to use orthophotos (presumably for facades).
