Projection Mode by Model View Option

Wishlist: “By Model View Option” for Element Projection and Floor Plan Display

Could Graphisoft consider adding a “By Model View Option” setting to the Projection Mode and Floor Plan Display controls for applicable construction elements in Archicad?

This could provide more flexibility when fine-tuning graphics for specific drawings and saved views. An element’s display setting may work well in one drawing but provide a less suitable representation in another.

For example:

  • Roofs: Floor Plan Display settings such as Outlines Only, Projected with Overhead, Projected, and Overhead All can each suit different documentation needs. It would be useful to choose different settings for the same roof in different saved views or on different levels.

  • Beams: In the attached screenshot, the beam’s Uncut component is set to Symbolic under Projection Mode. While this suits some drawings, I would like it to use Projected in views with Core Only partial structure display.

A “By Model View Option” setting could allow these choices to be defined through MVO combinations and recalled with saved views. Elements could retain their individual settings where needed, with the option to follow MVO for greater flexibility across drawings.

It would also be useful to explore rules tied to view settings—for example, automatically using Projected graphics for uncut beam components in Core Only views.

This would help the same modeled elements serve different documentation needs, with less reliance on manual changes or 2D workarounds.
