Return to the initial Roadmap

Hi Graphisoft, can we please return to the original Roadmap ?

@mthd can you elaborate on what is better about the original Roadmap?

You might be mixing the Wishlist section of the forum with the actual Roadmap.

This is the Roadmap.

Same features as before and even better. The "Delivered" section has all the previous releases with small icons just like the old roadmap.

@Laurentiu please take a look at the boxes shown at 7 minutes into this video. Even pausing it and then comparing that to the latest roadmap. Sure ! a very few of these things have been delivered. 

To highlight some that I was hoping for soon was “Split Level Design”, “Room Book”, “Reflected Ceiling Plan”, “Skin by Skin design”. There are more that had me very excited about the future of Archicad.

These things gave Archicad a future direction to aim for but unfortunately it appears that they have lost their way since then.

Had they kept to that original direction, I am sure that many of us would have been happy to keep on investing in Archicad for the future ?

Perhaps others here could state what their favorites were from this list and post them here ?

It would be nice if @Nathan Hildebrandt could follow up for us as he was hosting this video.

At minute 7, that whole list is part of the "Idea pool" of the roadmap.

All those are items have not been developed and are just aggregated feedback from the community.

Most of them can be found in the wishlist section today as well, since the community has tried to re-emphasize the importance of those features.

So my understanding is that what you're looking for is a development to other wishes (like those in the Idea Pool), not necessarily the "original roadmap". Right?

Hi,@Laurentiu just asking if you were you here when we first got the ordinal roadmap ? What about when we had a post enquiring about Skin by Skin design by a GS employee ? What about in the press release they were going to introduce Skin by Skin Design in the very near future ?

The former CEO had a different future scenario for Archicad. It is my understanding after doing thorough research on the matter when that information was still available and not scrapped. I definitely saw the roadmap changed significantly in recent years.

With all due respect I suggest that you please refrain from making anymore comments on this post until you are sure about what I am talking about. Unfortunately much of that information has been scrapped by GS. What the future holds for GS is quite vague at present.

Those that know about the original roadmap could comment here if they wish.

Looking at the Roadmap in the video vs. the current Roadmap, I notice a lot more AI solutions (like 14/26 of the "under research" "solutions"). I wonder if some of the core improvements are getting sidelined as everyone is trying to figure out how to incorporate AI into every part of everything.

Hi, @NateLumen it certainly appears that AI is the focus at present and I think that might actually be the case.

@mthd I would only be able to comment on publicly available material provided by Graphisoft in a similar manner to which I produced that original video. I really don't have any additional comment I can make on it, even if I was to obtain specific feedback from my connections. All that can be discussed is what is publicly available.

Hi @Nathan Hildebrandt , No problems mate and no need to be sorry either. I understood that James Badcock once said in a post, ‘that even though those items on the older roadmap are not on there anymore, that doesn’t mean that they won’t get around to implementing them in the future.’ Or words to that effect, I am just quoting from memory and it indeed would be very beneficial if those items were goals that GS could aim for in the future. I would hope that some or all of these would appear again in a future roadmap.
