Since search bar was introduced in AC26 I can't imagine going back. But there are still few places where one would expect them and they are still not available. One of the place is Settings for views in View Map:
For combination layers, desing options and GOs this should be implemented of course.
I don't have so many MVOs in the projects but I can imagine it would have its pluses too.
Another place is quick options. Again, for layers, GOs, Design options this should be implemented.
Of course here the search bar should probably be on the bottom of the list.
