It would beg reat to have more associatibe hotspots for dimensions in
stair components. It's kind of frustrating that I can't rely on
dimensions I've created in sections for stairs and to be mindfull that I
have to check whenever there is a change for the stairs/story height...

As far as I know this is a limitation. You can not combine both options
together. You either get it spread to multiple layouts or it will go
next to each other/below itself on one layout.
