you have two options: 1. You can edit the nodes in edit mode so that
they are offset: 2. You can create nodes on stair boundary to which you

Totally agree with this. I'm using complex profiles for this and
associating railing a railing with the edges of the slab so I don't have
to edit multiple elements.
