Slab and roof surface textures in 3D automatically aligning with corresponding cover fills in 2D

Stuart Smith

After moving the origin or direction of a 2D Cover Fill on a slab or roof, the origin/direction of the corresponding Surface texture image in 3D should also update.

For example, modeling an acoustic ceiling grid or floor tile pattern, setting the 2D Cover Fill origin and direction in plan should also set the origin and direction of the 3D texture, so that the model view and plan view match.
Currently, one has to manually align the 3D textures in the 3D window, which is an extra, and time consuming, step.

Hi,

This worked perfectly in both directions up to Archicad 22, then suddenly, for no reason, stopped working starting with Archicad 23.

Now if you set the texture origin to 3D AND the 2D vector fill has its origin handle active, then the fill will position itself correctly.

I would also like it to go back to the way it was before. It's so absurd to lose such a simple and practical feature.

BTW Happy new year to all of you.

Olivier, you are absolutely correct that that this used to work. In fact i submitted it as a bug back when it first appeared and was told that it would be fixed in an update. I have since submitted it as a bug in every beta since 23, and it’s still not fixed.

I figured if we make it a wish Graphisoft can announce it as a new feature in v30. šŸ˜‰

Stuart,

I've also reported this issue systematically with each new version. šŸ˜”

Perhaps one day it will be fixed... šŸ™„
