Teamwork: Open via Desktop Shortcut

Would it not be great if you could open Teamwork projects via a desktop shortcut?

Imagine being able to open a TW file from within your company filing system much like you would a PLN. If you are signed in and have already joined the project, it would just open as if you were opening any other pln file. If you had not joined, it would ask if you would like to join given you have permissions to do so. If you are not signed in, or do not have permissions, it would ask you to sign in with an account that has the requisite permissions. This would be especially useful if you work with both pln and tw models as it would remove the need to remember which model is which, and if you migrate a project from pln to tw, opening it from a file manager would be seamless.

You mean something like an Explorer-Window or a Finder-Window from where you can start every project that is hostet on your server(s) with a single double click? With the right Archicad version?

Nope. A shortcut that you can open a TW project from that sits within the same filing system as your non-TW projects, consultant receivables and post-production files.

Your launcher does look great though if all of your projects are TW and across multiple versions.

A simple shortcut will not work, because you need to authenticate against the bimcloud-server. My tool does exactly what you ask for: it creates a command that starts Archicad with a command line parameter which includes the authentication of the registered user. But the credentials are sent in plain text. This is all handled inside the software for that there is only minimal security risk. Maybe it’s possible but not as a link or an alias but as a script which pulls the credentials from the local preferences or registry …
