Wall editing tool to trim top part

KevinJ

Often I need to create some kind of wall which will be trimmed on the top part in diagonal. For example a wall along stairs ...
To do so there is several approach :
- Create a roof and trim with roof and hide roof or
- Create a roof and crop
- Create a morph from wall but it lost some editing possibility (and morph editing is messy)
- Create a special profil in 2D
- Solid element operation and then hide operator element

They are all taking time and need to create other component to arrived to such result.
After all there are already several way to create wall with different thickness for example but this is only for the 2D plan.
I which there would be a fast way to do the same "verticaly", editing wall height at both end of the wall :

Another option for your list -

- Add a polygon opening.

It's really time for this feature to be implemented. Drawing a wall with a variable height is more common than it might seem. It's frustrating to always have to rely on workarounds. I believe it should be fairly simple — just allow the possibility to assign different heights to the start and end points of each segment.

Yes, it would be nice to easily adjust start and end heights for both the top and base of the wall.

You would think it would be possible given that we can already have different start and end widths as well as top and base widths.

But I am sure it is much more complicated with connection to other elements.

Yeah, maybe it's not as easy as it sounds, after all. But i think it's worth considering anyway.

It might be complicated with complex profiles but I think it is all solvable with "lowest common denominator" type of solution. I think that keeping end height until all junctions resolve, and rise or fall from there would be a rather simple solution to such a problem. If you need more freedom than that, you can always use SEO. But for the vast majority of situations, it would solve many problems and reduce the number of steps and workarounds.
