How do you emphasize door/window contours in the BIMx web viewer?

Hi,

I need to make the doors and windows pop more (using Realistic mode in BIMx). They are almost invisible. I'd rather not change colour or fake a reveal. Do you have any trick or is there something I missed regarding visible lines around the wallhole? The lines are there in the simple shading but it's showing all polygon lines which is ugly.

Why do your doors not have frames and a door leaf - or is that what you are asking?

I think it is some GO making existing(?) all white?

It's supposed to be white and with no lining/handles. We use this simplified appearance for int doors in our large projects.2024-02-27_10-32-58.png

Ah, a flush door with the same material as the wall. Looks like we need some tolerances coded into the door... since you cannot emphasise a contour that does not exist. Maybe use a slightly different white for the doors? Like 254 instead of 255.

So, the problem is that the 'realistic' view will be saying same material in the same plane, so don't show any joining lines.

As Ling says, you would have to use a slightly different material or some slight definition for the frame and door panel so the surfaces are not all in the same plane.

It doesn't work with the "254-trick"...too subtle. The only way seems to be to add lining (and handle).

The simplified view in BIMx displays the doors ok but all the imported specialty equipment (object converted from skp, and .rfa mostly) get so many polygon lines it looks messy.

Hopefully this can be improved in the future since.

Looking closer, I see 'realistic' has no contours on any elements at all.

So your material colours would have to be a little different (more than just 1 RGB shade) to notice, or not have the doors and frames all flush with the wall.

It seems that the inside of doors in other wall show OK?

I’ve tried adjusting various settings, but I’d prefer not to change the colors or artificially create reveals. The lines are visible in Simple Shading mode, but that also displays all the polygon lines, which isn’t ideal for the overall presentation.
