AC 10 - ArchiTerra 2.06 Works, ArchiTerra 3.07 Crashes!

Hello any AT user's, It is almost 11 PM (23:00) in Rome at this time so most of the Cigraph staff are hopefully getting a good nights sleep.

I have a project migrated from AC9 into AC10 and I had previously used ArchiTerra (AT) 2.06 to create a mesh from a surveyors DXF file. The mesh was very slow in 3D (See discussion here ) and was having memory issues.

With the new purchase of AT 3 I decided to delete the mesh and the DXF imported data from the project and start over with AT 3.

When importing DXF data with AT 3.07, ArchiCAD 10 crashes. I have tried to import the DXF data into a fresh Template (not a NEW and Reset) and it still Crashes using AT 3.07. If I open a new template file in AC10 and import the DXF data using AT 2.06, it works fine.

I want to use AT 3. Do I have to remove AT 2.06 from the AC10 Add-Ons folder?

So far the only way that I can work with a Mesh created from DXF or TXT data is to:
1. Import the DXF/TXT data using ArchiTerra 2.06
2. create the Outline and the Mesh using AT 2.06
3. Delete previously imported points and the outline fill
4. Closed the AT 2.0 palette
5. Opened the AT 3.0 palette
6. Selected the terrain and clicked on the ArchiTerra 3.0 Terrain tool icon and converted the mesh.

At this point I seem to be able to use the AT 3 tools to manipulate the Mesh.

When creating the left and right Lonitudinal Sections of a road way created from a Fill the section object can be placed but not manipulated as stated on Page 76 of the users guide. There it states that the Longitudinal sections can be repositioned using a editable hotspot to reposition. I could not get this to work. I can move the Sections, but not independently for each other.

Hi Jay,

about the import crash, as I already privately wrote you, we are still investigating because we are not able to reproduce your trouble...
About the independent positioning of the longitudinal sections please look at the attached image, it should help you...

Thank you as always Fabrizio & Cigraph. Your company is one of the best with customer service. Do you have a USA release of the software to test the import from DXF? I do not know how the USA release is different from the international and oters, but this is puzzling.

Thank you for the further instruction. I was always attempting to move the Upper (Left) Llongitudinal Section. It worked when moving the Lower (Right) Section. The Manual does state, "...an editable hotspot in the bottom left corner of the lower section..." I just need to read more closely.

Jay, this is the real trouble: all the versions are the same!
Just different strings are used in the localized version but the core or the software is always the same.
I have other users which use ArchiTerra 3 and nobidy got this kind of trouble...

Dear friends,

as Jay already knows (we had a quite day by day correspondence) he was right!
The import bug appears if the ArchiTerra user utilizes the Imperial system as working unit.
We already make available a mainenance update for ArchiTerra 3.0 (for all the AC versions and all the OS) on our web site that fixes this fastidious bug.

Sorry for the inconvenient...
