can any one tell me what the .shx files are that archi cad looks for when I try to save as a dwg?

pre AutoCAD R14 font files. From the time when AutoCAD ran under DOS and every application needed to have its own fonts and printer files.

Which strangely enough are still in use today after almost 10 years of being obsolete.

They are AutoCAD font definition files (so to speak). As far as I can tell they really aren't necessary in most cases. It has been years since I used them. I just always click on "skip all", and haven't had any problems.

OK thanks- I have allways "Skipped all" too. Then I had an extra second and decided I should ask what I was skipping all of.
