Yes, unfortunately it's a known ArchiCAD bug in the Section/Elevation display.
The only way to workaround this bug (we already notified it to GS) is to avoid to use horizontally limited section/elevation...
Sorry for this.

I'm enjoying ArchiStair as I have all previous Cigraph add-ons. There have been some excellent suggestions for further development by ATalkers. I have a few others. Please forgive me if I've missed them in previous discussions.

1) I would like the ability to rotate the text labels so they can always read upright. And can the info label be relocated?
2) Ability to set the cut line location from both the UPPER level as well as the lower.
3) Maybe I'm missing something, but when I choose to have the upper riser located at the edge of the upper slab (no separate top tread), the line of the top riser does not show in plan--and of course should.
4) Ability to set a pen for the directional arrow head separate from the directional line.
5) Minor, but the control of the up/down text should be in the AS interface without going through AC.

P.S. "And can the info label be relocated?" the last uploaded update lets you relocate the info label by dragging its editable hotspot...

Hi Fabrizio,

For a newly released product it seems to work very well. I did notice something odd:

I've created an 800mm wide stair with wood treads cantilevered 100 each side of the stair for a total width of 1000 mm. On the lower floor, the full 1000mm wide tread shows. On the second floor, only the 800mm wide stair shows. Is this a known bug?

Cheers, Cameron

Other glitches:

1) When stacking stair objects, one hides the other: Build a stair object to travel from floor 1 to floor 2. Build a second to travel from floor 2 to floor 3. Make all stair fills EMPTY and show on relevant floors. Only one stair at a time is visible on the plan.

2) When an entire stair is visible (such as three steps down to a sunken room) there is no way to have a direction arrow with UP or DOWN displayed. This should be possible and preferred direction should be selectable.

Maybe this is already know bug but i am posting it
This is a preselected stair. Its about the labels on the second part of the stairs. The picture shows it clearly

Hi oreopoulos,

unfortunately (or luckely!) it's not a bug but a well known ArchiStair limitation: the numbers follow the walking line direction.

This could a good opportunity for getting suggestion about this issue:
how shoud behave these text?

what do you prefer?

Please, any suggestion will be welcome...

In drawing there is always a reading direction. You must read the drawing from one direction. AC does follow that rule.

Maybe an option to either follow the raising line OR all the text should have the same angle and orientation as in step 1., or even better let the user define an angle that the text should follow throughout the chair.

I understand that its a difficult decision.
I can edit the text only if i explode . Am I correct?

Thx for you reply fabritzio.. You are great
