Fabrizio/Anyone,

How would I construct a stair with two landings as shown in this diagram:

Thanks.

I thought this to be no problem either, but is the "3ramp_2landings.jpg" stair that you show really only one stair object or two.

Either way the program is great.

I can not actually create as one stair object the Upper Stair shown in my Attachment. Can we get the Stairs with 3 Flights and 2 landings where the beginning and ending flight travel in the same direction?

Fabrizio,

ArchiStair is one of the most important addons out there for ArchiCAD, since Stairmaker is so limited and stairs are so important and present on our projects. Although ArchiStair is the best stair modeller, it has so much space for improvements.

Please give us metallic stairs models!

Dear "Flute",

during these days I'm just working on a new maintenance update of ArchiStair that improve some issues about 2D symbol and other stuffs.

Then we will start to develop a major update that will mainly address the handrail issue: more modelling freedom and control on any components of this important part of the stair.

This is the right time to ask us new improvements so, first of all, thank you for your suggestion/request and any other request is welcome: only the users can know what they need!

In the meanwhile, could you be so kind to privately send me (fabrizio.diodati@cigraph.com) some images showing which kind of stair do you want to get by using ArchiStair?

Thank you in advance,
friendly

Fabrizio

Fabrizio,

I sent you some images.

Nice support! I wish Graphisoft could listen to us more often.
Thanks!

Regarding the 3-leg switchback stairs as modeled, it seems that it's a bit troublesome to shift the fills that half-inch or so so the software knows the order of fills to use. I was therefore wondering if we can have a default 3-leg (or more) switchback stair.

And this brings me to the other issue regarding this stair. I'm working on a project where we need to use 3-leg switchback stairs one all the levels. The problem is that it is hard to get the display in the floor plan to show up correctly. If I tell it to cut the stair off at 4' (standard), the floor above shows the rest of the stair (the whole 9 or so feet), which translates into 2-3 legs, thereby overlapping the stairs that are supposed to start on that floor and creating confusion.

Now, am I doing this wrong, or is there another way to resolve this?

BTW, LOVE the software (other than this quirk)...

Sergio,
Just a few settings that you may already know of.....

I always have to "mess" with all the settings before I can get the display that I want.

Each Stair Object can show on Own Story, Story above, Story below, etc...

Also check whether "no Projection under stair break is checked.

Again "play" with the settings and you should be able to arrive at what you desire.

K, this is weird. Posted a reply a while back but can't see it.. I'll try to repost what I wrote originally.

Problem is I'm dealing with a THREE-leg stair, where leg 1 and leg 3 are overlapping, much like the pic posted by Fabrizio earlier. With this configuration (3-leg), the first floor shows part of the 1st leg (0.5 legs, usually), and the floor above shows whatever is left (2.5 legs, usually). This creates a problem already in that leg 3 overlaps part of leg 1. Now if I was to add a stair to the floor above, I'd have 3 legs overlapping. I don't think this can be resolved with any of the available settings.

I've tried, but haven't had much luck - see the problem described above. I Love the product, but just can't seem to get this issue resolved..
