How can i obtain Autodesk AutoCAD software for free? I would like to transition from "hands on" to designer in the piping industry. Goin' it alone and barely adequate on PC, I am a little hesitant to lay out $1400.00 for the software package. Especially since I am layed off with no prospects of working soon. Is there any way around paying for licensure for educational purposes?

This is an ArchiCAD forum, not AutoCAD forum.

By the way, there are free alternatives to AutoCAD that read and write DWG files.
Just search for them on the Internet and you will find them.
