BIMx AirDrop IOS to IOS - failing

Here's a good one - I have in the past been able to AirDrop a copy of a BIMx file from my iPad to a clients iPad but either their or my IOS device won't complete this any longer - with the warning siting: "cannot receive all of these items at the same time" [attachment, my iPhone trying to AirDrop to my iPad] get the same message reversing the two devices.

It's my understanding, albeit limited, that a BIMx file is a single file, and having done this previously I'm stumped. It's a dead simple method for a quick in person exchange of the files, for example meeting my engineer for lunch, [I have given him a striped down loaner iPad to use], and or clients who have no idea where or what their iTunes account passwords to load apps.

I have scoured Apple forums seeking answers and only getting the usual; restart your devices, update all IOSs, ensure bluetooth and WiFi are enabled. all boxes ticked.......

Any insights or suggestions to help me get back to employing this simple sharing procedure would be greatly appreciated.

You can report this through the feedback in the BIMx app. The development team ( @Roland Szabo ) are pretty good at responding.

Apple iMac Intel i9 / macOS Sonoma / AC27UKI (most recent builds.. if they work)

Thanks Mate - I’ll give them a shout.

Hi Jeff, thank you for reporting this! The next BIMx iOS update will include the correction. We plan to release it soon.

In general, we recommend importing from BIMx Model Transfer because model updates are easier thanks to the live server connection and notifications.

Thanks Roland for looking into this - appreciate it! As I mentioned this a method I use occasionally for a down ‘n dirty transfer often in situations without internet connectivity, but more often with clients who’ve no access/understanding of their device’s passwords etc………..let’s me just drop it right onto their device.

Great to know this will be a returning feature ;-]
