About model and data exchange with 3rd party solutions: Revit, Solibri, dRofus, Bluebeam, structural analysis solutions, and IFC, BCF and DXF/DWG-based exchange, etc.
I'm not sure if this has ever been asked before, and apologize if it has been, but does anyone know if there's anyway of converting the ArchiCAD model (3D window) into the U3D format or an applicatoin that would convert from one of ArchiCAD's export formats into U3D?
It seems as though Adobe Acrobat (the latest version 7) now supports imbedding of 3D models to alllow models that can be rotated, panned, zoomed and even walkthroughs, but imports the models as U3D files. And the person getting the pdf with the imbedded model only needs to have the latest acrobat reader version to access the model. My guess is that it is a common with CAM programs and mech. designers along the same vein as STL and IGES formats. I know vrml export is an option in ArchiCAD, but I'm not certain if Adobe reads those.
It would sure beat the need to export multiple camera view JPEGS of your model to convey the sense of form and the walkthrough function certainly would be a step up over interior perspectives.
