The only way (AFAIK) is to open the DWG as a library part. The ArchiCAD building model requires parametric data which the DWG lacks. As a library part the DWG has the minimal parametrics (location, scale, etc.) which allow it to exist within the ArchiCAD model.

AutoCAD users can export their models as .3DS files. You can then, with help of the 3DS in add-on, import AutoCAD models into ArchiCAD.
If you don't have the 3DS in add-on already loaded you will find it in the "Goodies" folder in your ArchiCAD directory.

The models will be converted into GDL objects.

Cheers.
