Hi,

We are working on a project with 196 building on a site. We have completed 100, and the client has decide to change all unit nos. Is there a quick way of searching and replacing ex. door nos to reflect the new change. Eg LG1/01 is now D1/01 and G1/01 is now D2/01.

It depends on how your doors are numbered, but in the most likely scenario that you are using the door ID by itself the answer is "yes, sort of, but".

It is possible but would require scripting a somewhat clever library part for the door marker, and that might still not do all you want (like fill in the schedules properly). It is possible to get the doors to schedule properly as well but this would require editing the door parts as well. It is something that I could do fairly quickly, but unless you have access to some pretty advanced GDL talent it is probably not an option for you.

The least difficult way t do it manually is probably to edit the door numbers in the IS itself. There is no search and replace function (AFAIK) so it's still a pretty tedious one by one process, but at least you have them in lists and don't have to hunt them down in the models.

as long as your label tool is using the door/windows 'ID' attribute for it's label component, and not manually entered text: the 'Element ID Manager...' is not entirely automatic, but will certainly expedite the process.

the order of selection is important . . . otherwise the order of creation (i.e. internal ID) will form the primary sorting order of the elements who's ID you're changing.

or have i misunderstood just what you want to do?
