Cloudcompare e57. importing point cloud. "e57 is invalid and can not be imported".

Hi,

I am attempting to import a 3d drone photogrammetry model.

I had no luck with OBJ. So I am attempting to import point cloud.

I have opened the LAS. from DJI Terra in cloudcompare then converted LAS. to e57. Now attempting to open but archicad keeps saying the e57 is invalid and cannot be imported.

Is anyone experienced with this?

Operating system used: Windows

I am reading that the e57 file format can store point cloud data, image data, and metadata. I suspect Archicad might be able to import e57 files if they contain only Point cloud data. Your e57 file might contain other type of data as well, which might be the reason (this is all speculation on my part).

Try to save the Point Cloud as XYZ file format from CloudCompare and open that in Archicad.
