Converting 3D files to ACIS format

Has anyone used ACIS software with Archicad. I am trying to convert Archicad to a format that can be used to make heavy timber structural elements. when I use dwg files, they can read the file but the objects are not recognized as solids in Autocad for conversion to ACIS. I tried creating the 3D model in both open GL and with the internal 3D engine.

ACIS Solids are in no way related to the geometry that is generated in ArchiCAD. So I wouldn't suspect it to be possible at all!

Unless you are a smart developer that can convert all ArchiCAD geometry out of ArchiCAD into the ACIS *.sat format.

The geometric kernel for ACIS is unrelated to GDL so it's not possible.

There are MCAD tools that can do their best to convert polygonal geometry into real solids, if that is what you need. I'm not using any of them so I'm not the best source for this info, but you might check out tools like CATIA, Inventor, SolidEdge, Pro-Engineer, Vellum etc...
