Exporting to 3DStudioMax

Before anyone even thinks about telling me to search these forums for an answer, please know that I HAVE searched these forums, I found some answers, but for some reason I still can't seem to get it to work.

OK here goes:

Using ArchiCAD 12 on a OSX 10.5, 2.4 Ghz Intel Core Duo iMac, 4Gb Ram.
Using 3DSM 9 on Bootcamp with Windows XP.

Very simple model, 6 walls, a couple of ArchiCAD 12 couch library parts, a table, 2 windows, a 4 panel sliding door. Hipped roof. Slab floor.

Internal view, Save As...
3DStudio file

Construct 3D Studio objects according to: Materials
Set drawing unit to: 1000mm

File saved to desktop, transfer to USB drive.

Restart iMac into Bootcamp Windows XP.

Open 3D Studio Max, and attempt to open saved 3DStudio file, but it will NOT OPEN.

Have tried this with the view in OpenGL, Internal shaded and Internal hidden lines.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Am I missing a simple part of the save process? Is anyone successful in doing what I am attempting, AC12 to 3DSM 9, iMac with Bootcamp etc?

Any help much appreciated.

I install the hotfix 3 and this time it worked well.... Maybe is something that they fixed... or just some luck hehehe

Hei Friends!
pls help me. i'm Usin' ArchiCAD 10 build 1188 & i can't save my job to export it to 3DStudioMAX. there is no extension save file in the save as list to save it on 3DS type. what can i do to solve it? & another question how can i save it on PDF type!!! again there is no extension PDF save file in save as file list!!! please help me. i'll be thank all of U.

you need to be in the 3d view to save in the 3ds format

Your options will depend on your operating system. You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

ok. i'm Using Windows XP SP3 with latest updates (except .net framewokr 3 & 3.5) , 4 GB Ram, 160 HD, ATI 9550 Graphic card (Saffari 9.3 hotfix update) driver. i Used in 3d model space , but none of this save as icons were in tehe list save as : PDF, 3DS and DWG . i'm Using Archicad 10 build 1188. so tell me please do have install any other add in pack for saving in 3ds, pdf or dwg or what is the problem @ all?
