GDLExplorer

There's a program from Graphisoft called GDLExplorer that I have found on some furniture manufacturers' CD GDL catalogues, called GDLExplorer.

I find this extremely useful to browse my libraries and choose a part to export into other programs, like Sketchup.

However, the version that I have is in German, and more importantly, doesn't work with later GDL parts (>v8?).

I assume that GDLExplorer is a free program. Where can I get the latest version, in English?

Thanks.

I only know about the current web-tool (with similar functions as you describe) known as
"GDL Adapter" at

Well, I know about that program. I was referring to GDL Object Explorer. It's similar, but the GDL Adapter is meant to be a plugin specially for AutoCAD, whilst the Object Explorer program is a freestanding program that can export in many different formats.

I don't think it has been updated since the release of v8. I hope Graphisoft will make it freely available to everybody when they update it if they are serious about promoting the GDL format.

You should post a wish; I agree that GDL Explorer (I found an old version on some dusty CD) should be avaialabel for download FREE - as mostly any FILE VIEWER is ... ?

Yes, it works fine with ArchiCAD 8 and 8.1 objects
Some nice objects come with it.
