About model and data exchange with 3rd party solutions: Revit, Solibri, dRofus, Bluebeam, structural analysis solutions, and IFC, BCF and DXF/DWG-based exchange, etc.
I would love to put some of my ArchiCAD models into the virtual world of Second Life. Does anybody out there know if that's possible? With some preliminary research it looks like I could save an ArchiCAD file as a 3D studio file, import it into blender and then somehow use Python to get it into a language understood by Second Life? Is there an easier way? I don't want to learn 2 new programs if it can be avoided.
It's a proprietary software just for Second Life. http://secondlife.com/whatis/create.php
However, reading the forums, the software Python and Blender were mentioned quite frequently so there's a way to get them from those programs into Second Life.
Just keep your polygon count down.
It i easy in Archicad to make a lot of polygons through finely detailed windows and over-refined curves that will drop your frame rate.
