IFC / Revit / ArchiCAD

I have imported a Revit model into ArchiCAD by means of IFC translator, but the final .pln file is so big and heavy and consists lots of objects (since the curtain wall from the Revit model has been converted to a huge number of objects- e.g. each frame has become a separate object). Does anyone know how to deal with this large number of object? Is there any way to reference all the identical objects to a typical one so to reduce the file size? or does anyone know any better way of conversion to recommend me?
Thanks!

The first question is what are you going to be doing with the Revit model in Archicad?

If you want to edit it, how much of the model will be edited?
Every element or just some?

Is this the first of a series of round-trips in which case you might want to develop your translator?

Erika, thanks for your kind attention.
Actually I'm going to take the model into VICO Constructor (as you may know, VICO and ArchiCAD have same core, and their local format is .pln) in order to integrate the time scheduling to it.

The Revit model is conclusive, so theoretically no further edit is needed for the imported model in ArchiCAD or VICO. However, as I mentioned in my first post, there are some edits needed on the objects and building components (such as object's materials) which due to lack of reference for the identical objects, it means that I have to change the object's materials one by one!

The major problem that I have encountered, is the curtain wall in Revit model which has been converted to a large number of objects. Is there anything that I can do in order to avoid it?

what about the updated Constructor which deals with Revit models directly?

you mean the "VICO Office"? I don't have access to it since it has no educational version.

Poop. Your signature didn't say you were using the EDU version. Have you tried to contact VICO directly about this?

Yes! And they said it would take up to 1 year or so for VICO Office to be available as EDU version. However, I have started my research with VICO Constructor and I can't move it on to VICO Office.
Actually the Constructor doesn't recognize "curtain wall" at all and that's the source of my problems.
