Hello Everyone
I have one question when working IFC file in ArchiCAD
I use hot link module to link IFC file Structural in ArchiCAD.
But when check Story for all IFC object setting will be link from Ground Floor.
How to Story of IFC object will be set by Story in ArchiCAD?
Example: Example Beam, Slab in Level 6.000 will link with Story 6.000 in AC; Column height form 0.000 to 6.000 will link to AC Story
Thanks All
Operating system used: Windows

Hi
Generally in our office when we receive an IFC we follow two steps:
First with just open the IFC with right click and then open with archicad. In this way we can open it and check how many stories and heights it has. It can be that there is just one story.
If it's like this it means that your partner is not following the same stories setting that you have. It's good to communicate it to him/her. Otherwise you need to do it by yourself. Create a new file with the same story settings that you have and then assign them to the right storie level. And then export a mod. But it's not recommended because every time you need to do it and you can occur in error. It's better that you and your partner are working with the same storie setting.
Greetings,
Matteo

Hi @Matteods
Thank you for your information, I trying to use open IFC method but if we use this way I have two issue below
1)Update(Change) IFC Model: When IFC model was updated? You need to open new ifc version then save new ArchiCAD Model then link to Architect model? IF we use hotlink module it will auto update with relink features?
2)Control display on Floor plan: If use open IFC method how we can control the display on Floor plan, I see many ifc object do not show correct in plan
In Floor plan display it show all story and show cover fill?

Hello
1) if you have checked that you and the partner are following the same stories and heights setting then you can directly use hotlink to import the IFC. Here some info:
https://help.graphisoft.com/ac/25/int/_ac25_help/121_IFC/121_IFC-8.htm
Then if you get an updated IFC you need just to Copy in the same folder or the previous one. You can also overwrite it and then update the hotlink or if you want to keep both files you need just to relink the hotlink with the newest one. You can do it in the hotlink Manager.
2) Regarding the view on floorplans there are many factors to be aware. The first is IFC file is more useful to work in 3d and check problems but for the floorplan views generally is good to receive dwg's file for each floor. If you request it to your partner you can import it and you will have the correct view.
But if you want to try to adapt your IFC file you can do it. If the objects are connected to the right story level you can set it to "show on home story". (It should be that you have object that has to be shown on more levels for this reason if you use dwg's it's more useful to have a right plan)
If they are all assigned to one story level You could request or export individual IFC for each story, then import them using the hotlink module manager. It's also good to verify that classifications are correctly assigned. Sometimes if there are unclassified elements, Archicad just imports them all as objects, which are not going to show graphically in floor plan as you would need them to.
Concerning the fill problem you can fix it with a graphical override
