MEP objects and Structural Function

Matthew Johnson

Interesting bug with MEP Objects;

Within the MEP object setting you cannot control the IFC element type, Position or Structural Function, which in itself makes sense as the IFC Element type should be obvious, the Position is almost always irrelevant and the Structural Function should always be Non-loadbearing.

However,
When using the Partial Structure Display setting recently on one of our major projects to isolate the structural steelwork for an IFC exchange with a consultant, most of the MEP ductwork decided to show up as if it was classified as Loadbearing!

Any ideas on how this might have happened or what we can do to make our ductwork Non-loadbearing?
