I think the confusion may be (?) that John asked the LogMeIn guys about LogMeIn, which is a remote desktop application which gives a remote user complete control over the host computer... but that Eduardo had recommended their Hamachi product, which is basically a hosted VPN (virtual private network) and only gives any connected computer access to those resources granted to it in the LAN.
I agree with Eduardo on using Dropbox (dropbox.com) for shared project files, particularly since your signature indicates you are on a laptop which I assume will not be available 24/7 (and which is my main concern for using it for a BIM Server for external partners in general).
John, it appears that port forwarding and other settings are done on the 6100G in a similar manner to other modems/routers: from Safari, log onto 192.168.1.1 with username admin, and password password to get to the web control panel.
Cheers,
Karl
