Numbering in Window Schedules

In the past, I have tried to use the door and window schedules with little success. In AC 10 the schedules seem easy to use and largely intuitive.

Now that I am trying to use them for real, I'm a little confused about how AC numbers windows. On one project when I made a window schedule using the Window NCS 10 schedule the numbers assigned to the windows seemed somewhat random.

One time, there were three W-3's. Once, it refused to include some windows that I had added even though I updated the schedule in Organizer.

Also, if I change a window number, can I not make a new schedule and have AC re-number the windows from W-1 to W-whatever?

Do I really have to go back and manually renumber all the windows?
Help!

Hi Don,

You can edit the window numbers directly from the schedule and it will send the information back to the door. A little trick for you though. Sometimes it is tedious to edit in the schedules because Archicad is constantly updated.
Go to Options / Work Environment / Dialog Boxes and Pallettes and change the Dialog Box Auto-Update Display to 600 instead of 1.5. This will let you work more freely.
Also, using the Element ID Manager you can go back through your project and renumber your windows very quickly and in the order you want them.
