Overwriting Schedules

Hi all,

I was wondering if there was a way to overwrite an interactive schedule by importing without breaking the link with the view map/layout sheets.

We are currently developing schedules for quantities which will take some time to finalise. The problem is that we need to roll it out across dozens of master pln files, which will be a time consuming task if we need to repeatedly update schedules that have not been 100% confirmed - or are later updated.

One method which I think may work but I have not tested is to use a global module. Would there be any drawbacks to that if the attributes the schedules use have not been appended yet?

I feel like this is a very simple thing that I've clumsily glossed over. Any help or workaround ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've not found a way to do this.

Even if you delete the schedule and import in the same action of opening 'scheme settings', the link is broken.

That said, with drawing manager it is quick enough to relink these, if you have multiple instances of the same schedule in one PLN.

If you have multiple PLN files (as you wrote), you will have to do this for each PLN, as far as I know.

If it is 'just' quantity take off, you could possibly hotlink your model into a file with the scheme setup.

Maybe use the hotlink name as a filter to differentiate between the different master files.

Thanks for the response. Following on with the hotlinking idea, would it be possible to hotlink a view, layout, or schedule and have it dynamically update for each job?

We have this kind of setup for our titleblocks where it loads whatever is on our template but is automatically updated based on the autotext of the job we're working on. I'd prefer not having to merge into a new file with the schedules.
