Polygon Count - Importing Sketchup models

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi All,

I've just discovered Google Warehouse, and tried to import some furniture models into Archicad. The only problem is the polygon count...one chair ended up being 30,000 polygons! Obviously not a good end result. Does anyone have any ideas about how to reduce the count, or is it just a bit of a waste of time to import Sketchup models into Archicad?

You could try converting the Object to a Morph, then using the Modify Segmentation... > Fewer Segments command to reduce the polygon count. In my own limited experience with Sketch-Up models, I have found them too polygon engorged to be useful.
