Bimm Tool version : 28.02.R01 "LITE"
Importing from a Leica LGSX file.
We are having a problem with the display resolution of the point clouds.
Even when setting all the sliders to maximum with a single imported station, the cloud remains very light (see attachment).
Example with a single station and all options set to maximum, and the view of the same station in our LEICA Register 360 software.
I know that the 2.5.10 resolution is reserved for paid licenses, but the 25 resolution should be more detailed than that when you look at Aruzhan Ilaikova's article on the forum: " Improved BIMmTool for better point cloud handling "
We also have a file called ālgsx_logging.txtā that is created during import with errors in it:

Unfortunately, the free version of BIMmTool is absolutely unusable for any serious work. The 25mm point density is really useless. A reasonably usable limit for working with buildings is 10-15mm. This plugin also displayed unwanted dialog boxes with a problem logging into the Bimmtool account every time I started Archicad ( Maybe it was just a bug in version specific version, but it behaved agresive like a "malware" in my case.). After trying it I uninstalled it.
I hope that Graphisoft will bring better features for working with point clouds natively in AC and will not provide more support for clunky third-party plugins at the absurd price of a usable pro version. I think this is not a solution that the community would appreciate (Please correct me if there is a bimmtool fan here?).

I wouldn't have gone that far, but yes, I have those issues too.
And I agree with you that in 2025, it's not normal for a programme like Archciad, which claims to be the best, not to have this feature built in.
It's great to add AI, but we'd like what already exists to be 100% functional and usable.

Just trying the lite version of Bimmtool. Encountering the same limitations described in the previous posts. The pro version does look useful, but the lite version is more hindrance than help - easier to just load the point cloud directly into AC after having decimated, cleaned, and extracted only the area desired using dedicated software (CloudCompare does a great job, and is free).
I fully agree that the sort of functionality Bimmtool offers should be an integral part of Archicad, especially with the now mandatory subscription fees. The modelling from point cloud functions looks advantageous, but yet to actually try it and running out of time on this current project to experiment - especially since it is not yet available for AC29.
The real focus should be for AC to leverage AI to model directly from point cloud data and relieve us of a very tedious task (the AI modelling process could be interactive where the user is asked to confirm/correct AI output).
P.S. Might need to get a Mac Studio - point clouds eat through RAM !
