i'm in serious need of help, i have a set of drawings and i need to convert to dwg.. sounds simple enough i know.

I have the drawings inserted in layout which i did by using the organizer, then i drag them over to be published set up the translator so that when they are opened in autocad the drawings are in model space and the title block in paperspace. but it doest work for this specific file when i open in autocad both the drawing and the title block are in paperspace rendering the drawing useless for anything besides printing. i did this same procedure with another file and it works fine. is my drawing file messed up somehow or did i accidentally do something different.
please can anyone help i need to fix fast

Are you sure that you are using the exact same Translator in both files? And is it just one of the Layouts that is not working in the trouble file?

yes its the same translator, and its the entire file not just one layout.
I have used the same translator with other files successfully.
I forgot to mention that i started the drawing in archicad 9 then completed in 10

I believe this is a 'known issue' try creating a fresh view, and then dragging the new view onto your layout, should work...which kinda bites for all those migrated projects. I am still getting very messy DWG published content, black background paperspace, no easy option for hairlines in modelspace, framed images, etc....
