Removing Autocad Trace Refs

I seem unable to remove all data (layers) from an autocad dwg, imported for trace ref purposes, when I create a new dwg from pln file it contains all the original dwg file info from autocad including architects elevations, roof and other info not needed in the export. I need to export my landscape designs for civil engineers to assess drainage, retention/detention etc

The question is not clear but different options to work with:

1. Crop the DWG to show only the area you need. This works if you "Placed a linked DWG" in AC.

2. In the DWG export filters look for and check "Save DWG with cropped View content".
