Skp to archicad 3d model

After importing my SketchUp file into ArchiCAD, some materials/textures aren’t showing/displaying properly. My goal is to convert the 3D model into BIMx format so it can be viewed on their tablets.

Hi, in my opinion the best way to do a nice importation from .skp (and not only) into Archicad is the Add-on ModelPort by Archvista. It is simple, fast and powerful enough. The standard importer is just not the same. However ModelPort is quite expensive, depending how much you really need it.

Are you sure that you want to use BimX just to show a SketchUp model? BimX is great to export and share complex data from Archicad, but if visualization alone is what you are looking for, maybe you should pick a lighter workflow.

SketchUp viewer is free and easy to use. You can save Views in SketchUp to “pilot” the viewing experience (of clients? collaborators?) and graphic is fine and customizable. I think that would be the smartest way.

There are also other apps and cloud apps that provide nuce visualization from many formats (.skp included) but I never tried. Check on Modelo, Shapespark or Simlab. Not free 🤨
