Zone category name

Hi All
Have I missed something. Why is there a ZONES.ZONECATEGORY_ID but yet no ZONES.ZONECATEGORY_NAME in the database schema? Be nice to know what does and doesnt work as far as commands go. I notice COUNT doesnt seem to work (or I'm doing something wrong although its a very basic command)

Which schema? The internal SQL schema (which version 9? 10?) or the ODBC schema? They are not the same.

Internal schema is documented via the Show Data Structure menu command.

ODBC schema can be figured out by linking all tables and studying them.

Not really much documentation in this area.

For the internal database, the names are ZONECATEGORIES.NAME and ZONES.NAME so I assume you're talking about the ODBC schema...

Please give complete info in your questions - version of AC, platform, etc....

Hi Karl
I'm referring to the internal schema. When I query AC via the sql window, I'm wanting to know all the zone info so I do the basic SELECT * FROM ZONES. Works fine. One of the pieces of info I want is simply what the name of the category that the particular zone belongs to. It of course gives me the zone cat ID but I thought it would have been of similar logic to include the category name? Can you nest queries?

Ive programmed GDL for 10 years but I'm only newbie to odbc and having a little trouble getting it going with access 2002. When I link to a table via the odbc V10 the table appears completely populated with '#Deleted'. ?? I can see the headings for the table ok

Thanks
Mark
