curved dimensioning to dwg goes bang!

why do all my curved dimensions get ripped apart when I export the file to dwg? the linear dimensions are again dimensions in AutoCAD and can be reworked, but all the curved ones are exploded to arcs, lines and text.

I am just guessing, but I think it is possible that the difference in data structures of the two applications does not make it possible to do this conversion. But this is just a guess.
Another guess is that it has simply not been implemented yet.

So what have you expected?! It's just .dwg - a file format older than many of the users in this forum!

Have you tried to export a sketch line? This is worth seeing!

If you're asking me, I expected to see my arc dimensions retain their form just like linear dimensions. AutoCAD has arc dimensioning, so it should convert. Besides, the arc dimensions in AutoCAD have a small arc symbol before the dimension and we don't like that!

That's right, ArchiCAD 9 on XP and we're exporting to AutoCAD 2006. I wanted to add an arc dimension to our template to see if it solves it - worth a try perhaps...

Hmmm ... 9 reads and writes 2005/2006, right? When was the curved dim introduced in AutoCAD? It might be that the OpenDWG or whatever libraries Graphisoft used for the translators do not support curved dims in AutoCAD.

Don't blame any non Autodesk company for this ...

Try to see what happens - personally, don't use AutoCAD unless I really HAVE TO ...

Dwg file export from AC9 is only in AutoCAD2000, as is written in the Translator. Were there arc dims in AutoCAD2000???

Does anyone use AutoCAD unless they really have to?! We all scream!

Well, 2004 or 2006 - all the AutoCAD users save in 2002 dwg, because the new ones sometimes crash! So who cares?
I have AutoCAD 2006-7 - trying not to use them...
