hi all,am a new user of archicad i only use it for modeling now & i render in max,my problem is that when i save my model as 3ds & import it in max ,i can see the model in all viewports but the perspective view, also when placing the camera & moving it around i also cannot see the model especially if it is an interior scene here is a picture of what am talking about

all i need to know is there a way around this,is it a problem from the exporting settings or is there a way around it in max ?

Ive had this prob before, try adjusting your clipping plane manually.

Incidentally
I am having problems assigning matrials in max to my model imported from archicad . The biggest issue is the generic naming of the objects when imported.
Does anyone have a decent process they use or will I have to rename each of the 100's of objects in my scene. Ive also tried to obtain material from object and just change the material properties but this doesnt seem to update all the objects with the same material names attached to them

@ Edward80 - not sure if you're getting into problems with your clipping planes because of the size of your imported scene - archicad's sun defaults to a direct light placed very very far from your scene - this can mess up your scene extents etc, and thus your clipping planes. But maybe you already know that - in case you don't, check out http://plugins.angstraum.at/archicad_wiz/index.htm

@ Infinity - check out
http://plugins.angstraum.at/materialreplacer/index.htm - also from Marc Lorenz - this should help, but I understand there are still a few bugs
