saving as dwg, when opening in autocad dims out of scale

Hi there.
So heres my issue. Im working on a project with archicad and need to save to dwg so my friend using autocad can work on it too. when ever he opens the files the dimensions are way out of scale, turning into inches when it should be feet. I've tried to configure the translator to different scales but It just isnt exporting right. when we measure the spans in auto cad it is accurate.
any advice?
The project is due soon, please help!

It seems a problem with the Dxf-Dwg Translator..your translator settings are not set up properly for the dwg export. You must customize your translator.
