I would like to automate a housekeep chore with the attribute manager. Does Archicad have the ability to record and play back keystrokes?

You may consider using a keyboard or macro utility.
I have been using one called Keyboard Express which will replay store keystrokes.
You can check it out here (I don't know if you are on Windows or Mac, this is for Windows):

However, as I can see they now have a Macro Tool which records mouse actions too.
Maybe that is the tool you need.

There used to be a program called QuickKeys on the Mac but that was long ago and it was more or less flaky varying with OS updates. My experience with these sorts of programs is that they are not terribly reliable. Good for automating repetitive tasks, as long as they are low risk, non-critical tasks.

This free one works very well also - http://www.autohotkey.com/

It's extremely powerful, and did I mention Free?
