Also a new white circle appears on screen which you can use to change the view/orientation , so have lost mouse control but can manipulate direction of fly through with this white dot...within the transparent circle.What is going on would like to return to normal mouse control for direction. ie no dot just just move the mouse?
 
it looks like you activated the Joystick mode (shortkey J)
