Back referencing section titles?/ Add parameter to GDL title

Hi...
i'm v novice at using GDL code. Here's my questions

I created a title (from drawing elements which i saved as a title object)
It includes an auto text for drawing number (standard stuff)

Question 1: can i create an automatic back reference? ie As the section marker automatically tells what sheet the section is on, can the section title tell from what sheet it came?

Question 2: if not, can i add a text parameter to the title object, and a line in the GDL script somewhere so i can manually add the text to the title in the title settings dialogue.

I don't want to simple add text to the layout on top of the title (incase i move the drawing, and not select the text also)

hope that made sense!

thanks for your thoughts!

Yes. See attached for an example of what we've done.

Am trying currently to create a very simple drawing title, involving two lines of text (editable or referring to the view, either one) and a graphic scale, all centered below the view-on-sheet (If I call this a viewport, will y'all freak out?).

I made up what I wanted it to look like, saved it as a title object, and it doesn't behave, of course... I feel like I'm missing about 23 steps in between. Such as, how to add editable fields, or indicate a line of text shall refer to the view name?

The graphic scale never showed up on the title when applied to a view on a sheet, either... But I see that a title shown in an upthread post shows a graphic scale...??? Does it change per view scale, or is it merely a graphic, and there is a title for each scale?

Thank you...

I'm afraid it's a bit involved -- and probably beyond explanation on this forum. The title I've shown is based on the NCS Drawing Title. I would recommend finding an existing Title Type than is closest to your desired format, Save As..., and edit the script with some help from the GDL Reference Guide...or...post a screen shot of what you're looking for and maybe some kind sole will make one for you.

Just to bring this thread back to life..

Now that it is 2016 How exactly are we able to back reference in AC12 and above im using 19 atm, just want to be able to back reference my independent details, I have been asking questions on here regularly and searching the AC helpcentre to no avail

I just need that bit of autotext that links back to the pages whence the detail markers can originally be found.

My current method of right clicking on an independent detail selecting 'find linked markers' and manually typing the pages to each detail title has become repeatedly cumbersome.

My Autotext for 'reference' is greyed out
and also drawing settings for my independent drawing selection settings is greyed out

Hi.
Back reference will only be available for titles whose parameter to show back references is set to ON. This is not the case for the stamp title. Use another one of the library titles (e.g. linear title)

There are three standard parameters that will give you back references in scripted titles, but there's a bit of GDL involved to make it work.

Best regards.
