COMPLEX STAIR PLAN DISPLAY _ ARCHICAD 21

Hi,

I am working in Archicad 21 on creating a custom bleacher tread element. I am using the stair tool to build the bleachers which works just fine. My issue though is that the bleachers have a curvy shape in plan (treads are created with the "Save as tread" option) and the plan view is still the symbol view (straight). It is not projecteted (should show curvy)
Is there a way I can set the stair to show the projected view in plan and not the symbol view?
I was thinking of custom objects and how you can replace the 2D script with project2 3, 270, 2 so that it shows the projection. Can I use something similar for stairs?

Any ideas? I would hate using the curvy element for 3D only and draw it in plan manually or, just as "good", use non parametric elements to buid my architectural element (like many separate slabs or some other unlinked, not parametric elements)

From my experimentation, you can add a 2D script to make the shape you want or simply draw it with a fill in the 2D symbol window (make sure there is no 2D script if you do this).

It won't be stretchy though if you bleachers are different widths.
Unless you script it properly to use the stair width.

Gotcha. So there is no way I can make this "flexible". We just need to remember to always update the 2D as design changes. Too bad

I was looking at this a bit closer.
I think you can make the 2D flexible if you script it to use the stair/tread parameters.
Don't ask me where you get these from, I haven't gotten that far yet and I probably won't bother trying.
They don't seem super obvious, but they must be there somewhere.

Anyway there will still be a couple of problems.
The 3D tread will not be stretchy either - you would have to script that as well.
And the 2D view will still show a default rectangular tread, no matter if you add a script or 2D symbol.

The default 2D & 3D treads can be altered to any shape without saving as a custom tread.
The only problem is they can only be edited one by one in plan or 3D.
And once changed they no longer stretch with the width of the stair.
It would be great if we could select all treads and have them all edited at once (unless I am missing this function).

It is not "many slabs" but depending on how many parts you have I would be tempted to create the bleachers with two complex profiles. One extruded along a polyline for parallel elements while the other is arrayed along the same polyline for tangential elements.

Good point.

I insisted on using the stair tool because I can adjust the height and the number of bleachers and coordinate that more easily with the adjacent stair.
I prefer to keep my elements as customizable as possible. Design always changes
