Hiding elements

Hi,
is there a way one element can hide an element below it. For instance i have two slabs drawn on the same story that overlap one another and are seperated vertically, I want the slab on top to hide the bit of the slab below it when seen from above? I attached an image to help clarify, thank you

You don't say what version of Archicad you are using.
Best is to add the details to your profile.

Unless you are using an older version (I think before version 10) then slabs now have the option of a cover fill.

Use this in conjunction with moving elements forwards and backwards in display order to get the look you want.

Thanks that worked, its strange however that a 3D program does not have a simpler way around this, it would be a nighmare with a complex model if you were trying to set up a standard plan view without all the transparency

agree - like automatically setting the Display order based on element elevation - slab A sitting at 500 above slab B should always hide the latter (provided Cover Fill is enabled).

ArchiCAD really needs to start making some major improvements to floor plan display - SEO's visible, etc. The hardware limitations which required a more diagramatic plan view (vs 'true' sections and elevations) are rapidly becoming history, the software now needs to catch up.
